Der Film erforscht Phänomene von Gender-Auflösung am Ende des Jahr­tau­sends in der Bay Area in Kali­for­nien. Im Mittel­punkt stehen Cyborgs, Menschen, die mit Hilfe neuer Tech­no­lo­gien ihren Körper und ihr Denken verändern, vor allem biolo­gi­sche Frauen, die das männliche Sexu­al­hormon Testo­steron benutzen. Wir lernen San Fran­ciscos führende Gender-Mixer kennen: Max Wolf Valerio, der aus seinem Buch „Max, A Man“ liest; Jordy Jones und seine Internet-Kunst; Texas Tomboy und seine Video­filme und Jordy und Staffords außer­ge­wöhn­li­chen Club für Gender-Mixers: Club Confi­den­tial. Außerdem Hida Viloria, eine Intersex-Frau, die im Zwischen­raum der Geschlechter lebt, und zwei besondere biolo­gi­sche Frauen, die Trans­gender-Menschen unter­s­tützen. Unsere Reise­füh­rerin durch das Land der Neuen Geschlechter ist Sandy Stone, auch bekannt als die „Göttin des Cyber­space“. Im irdischen Leben ist sie Profes­sorin am berühmten ActLab der Univer­sität von Texas in Austin. This film examines gender elimi­na­tion phenomena at the end of the mill­en­nium in the Bay Area in Cali­fornia. This docu­men­tary focuses on cyborgs, people who, with the aid of new tech­no­logy, have managed to alter both their body and their frame of mind; in parti­cular the film looks at biolo­gical women who are using the male sexual hormone testo­ste­rone. During the course of the film we are intro­duced to San Francisco’s leading gender benders – such as Max Wolf Valerio, who reads to us from his book, „Max, A Man“; Jordy Jones and his internet art; Texas Tomboy and his video films and Jordy and Stafford’s extra­or­di­nary club for gender benders, Club Confi­den­tial. We also meet Hida Viloria, an intersex woman who lives in between genders, and two very special women who support trans­gender people. Our travel guide through the land of new genders is Sandy Stone, also known as the „goddess of cyber­space“.
